Collaboration makes us stronger! 🫂
We are happy to partner with local and international players in sustainable development to host the Pre-event for #Children and #Youth leading to the Eleventh Session of the African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development #ARFSD11. Children and youth will use their creative arts to amplify their voices on their critical needs and demands.
A key outcome of the event will be a set of recommendations for policies and programs that address underlying barriers to young people’s employment, enhance the quality of essential services, foster entrepreneurship, and empower young people through skills development and vocational training.

Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is critical, particularly for young adolescents in and out of school. It contributes to poor school attendance and dropouts due to lack of affordable sanitary materials, especially in rural areas.
In Ssekanyonyi Sub-County, Mityana District, TeamUp Uganda works with young people to combat menstrual poverty by producing reusable sanitary pads. Last week, our implementing partner Action 4 Health Uganda organized a 5-day training at the Ssekanyonyi Youth Empowerment Centre, focusing on all aspects of production, from cutting, sizing, and sewing, to marketing and packaging. The youth greatly improved skills and knowledge, not just in production, but also in the importance of menstrual hygiene management.
The youth purchased an electric sewing machine and are now creating affordable, high-quality reusable pads which are chemical-free, irritation-free, and highly absorbent, offering a dignified and healthy menstrual experience for girls and young women. A packet of four reusable pads sells for just Ugx. 10,000 (USD 2.6). Producing the pads also provides a source of income for young people involved in their production and distribution. ...
